Langara Students Union

Introduction

Formed in 1969, the Langara College Students’ Union is an organization composed of all registered students at Langara College. Membership in the Union begins at registration upon the payment of membership fees. Membership ceases at the end of the semester following the last semester of studies.

Function

On campus, the primary function of the Students’ Union is the protection and advocacy of the rights and interests of its members. The Union actively works for positive change on issues affecting students directly, such as student financial assistance, and indirectly, such as world peace.

Operations

The Students’ Union operates as a co-operative, providing services to members. These include an inexpensive photocopy service, a student discount program and more. From time to time, the Students’ Union also holds social functions in the Students’ Union Building.

More Information

Further information and copies of your Students’ Union Constitution and By-laws are available from the main office of your Students’ Union Building.

Students Information

Every Langara College student is a member of the Langara Students’ Union (LSU) and pays membership dues each semester. Each semester student elections are held for the LSU Executive Committee. A number of other committees are also open to students.
